Book CircleTopics: Books Our local library has few English books so I found it difficult to keep my kids in story time materials. Lack of funds and storage space made collecting all the books I wanted to read to my children basically impossible. Several years ago I participated in a "book circle" where 10 to 12 members pooled funds to purchase 50 or 60 books. When the books arrived, we divided them among ourselves and set a date to send our first "package" of books to the next family on the list. Each month a new package of books would arrive from the person just above me on the list. We did this for children's books and had a get-together at the end of the year to divide the books up permanently by drawing straws and choosing books. It was a cheap way to have new bedtime reading material each month and end up with a few favorites at the end of the year. KS << Bondi Books | Index | Bookcrossing >> |
