Make Your Own Iced Coffee

Topics: Beverages, Coffee

I make my own iced coffee (I buy Kaldi's 'Ice Blend', 'Rich Blend' or 'Italian Blend' all good deals at 430 yen/200 g) and sweeten it with a sweetener called 'Pal Sweet Diet'. This sweetener dissolves well in cold iced coffee and is cheaper than most sugar syrups, and it's frequently on sale too. (Actual sugar would be cheaper, of course, but it needs to be added while the coffee is still hot.)

I drink the ice coffee straight or with a bit of regular 3.7% milk, but for my husband I'll add more milk -- about half milk half coffee -- and thicken it up with a bit of instant coffee and more sweetener. Whatever instant coffee is on sale is fine, but I find 'Blendy' dissolves well cold. This drink tastes better than the store-bought coffee milk and is healthier and cheaper too.
