Revolving Credit CardTopics: Credit Cards Avoid Japanese "revolving" credit cards. The credit cards keep after you because they'd LOVE to charge you that 1.5% per month. Not bad when Japanese time deposits pay 0.2% or less per annum. My Family Mart Jupi card comes only in the "revolving" variety, so if they won't let me raise the minimum monthly payment to 1 million yen (way beyond what I actually use it for, but I'm trying to make a point), it's history.
